Hundreds of dead trees infected by the Emerald Ash Borer are set to be cut down this week at Sarnia's Canatara Park.
The trees are located in Tarzanland along the frontage of Christina St. between Michigan Ave. and Lake Chipican Dr.
Sarnia Parks and Rec Director Beth Gignac says they're undertaking an assessment on January 20 and the removal will happen between January 21 and February 14.
Gignac doesn't expect the project to exceed the approved budget of $61,000. She says there will be a replant in the years to come after dealing with the invasive garlic mustard which is also prevalent in the park.
