Charges Laid In Saturday Night Crash

A 75-year-old Sarnia man is charged in a single vehicle crash Saturday night that caused extensive damage at Christina St. and Exmouth St.

Sarnia police responded around 9pm after a vehicle hit a traffic standard on the south side of Exmouth.

The standard was knocked down and Christina between Nelson St. and Exmouth St.  was closed for hours for the clean up.

Police say the driver was not hurt but was arrested for refusing to provide a breath sample.

He was held in police custody until sober and released.

The man is to appear in court March 3.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
