Weedless Wednesday

National Non-Smoking Week continues today with Weedless Wednesday.

Health organizations across the country are asking smokers to abstain for at least one day, in hopes of getting them to quit permanently.

Health Promoter with Lambton Public Health Marie Chaves says they're offering free Nicotine Replacement Therapy and counseling to help smokers quit.

Chaves says smoking rates locally are significantly higher than the national average with about 25 per cent of residents reporting smoking in 2011/12.
