OPSEU Members Stage Protest Rally

The Ontario Public Service Employees Union is trying to turn up the heat on the debt ridden provincial government with conciliation for 30,000 members stalled.

Region One Executive Board Member Philip Shearer says they staged a protest rally on the weekend at the 402 truck inspection station.

He says they don't believe Premier Wynne when she says there's no money for salary increases.

Shearer says the Liberals want to extend their wage freeze for another two years and cut benefits and severance pay.

OPSEU's last contract expired December 31.
