Process For Sale Of Former St. Pat's Initiated

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board has started the clock ticking toward the eventual sale of the former St. Patrick's High School property on East St.

Trustees approved a recommendation to proceed, in accordance with Ontario regulation, to notify all public sector groups when property is declared surplus to the board.

Public sector agencies have 90 days to express an interest in purchasing the property.

If there are no expressions of interest at the close of the 90 day period, the property can be listed for sale on the open market.

The East St. school was closed June 30, 2014.

Last September, St. Patrick's was relocated to The Rapids Parkway after a $15-million renovation and expansion of the former St. Christopher High School.
