Sarnia Company Charged Following Workplace Fatality

A Sarnia company faces four charges under the Occupational Health and Safety Act in the death of an employee at Professional Valve Services Ltd. last February.

The Labour Ministry says a pin dislodged from a valve that was being dismantled at the Vanier Rd. company, striking the 30-year-old worker who later died in hospital.

A supervisor faces two charges as well.

Ministry spokesman William Lin says an initial court appearance is scheduled for March 13.
