Ice Fishing Safety Tips

With the ice fishing season upon us, the Ministry of Natural Resources is offering safety tips for those venturing out onto the frozen water.

Conservation Officer Kevin Sprague says clear, blue ice is the strongest while white or opaque ice is weaker.

He says ice fishing should be done on at least 10cm of ice. It's recommended you test the strength of the ice before heading out.
