Sting Sale Discussed By OHL Board

The proposed sale of the Sarnia Sting to Derian Hatcher and David Legwand has passed another hurtle. The application was brought forward to the OHL's Board of Governors Monday, they'll now go through the standard review process.

Commissioner David Branch says it should be ratified in the next 7-10 days.

The Sting has been owned by Larry and Rob Ciccarelli since the Sting moved to town 20 years ago.

Meantime, the sale and move of the Plymouth Whalers was approved by the board. They'll begin playing out of Flint in the 2015-16 season.
