Hospital Says Strike Has Little Impact Locally

Bluewater Health says the strike by Community Care Access Centre workers has had a relatively minimal impact on hospital operations so far.

CEO Sue Denomy says the CCAC's main role is to coordinate services for patients so they can be adequately cared for at home.

She says they're following a contingency plan.

About 260 employees of the Erie St. Clair Community Care Access Centre that encompasses Sarnia-Lambton, Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex are on strike.

Some 3,000 are off the job province wide.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
