Third Methadone Clinic Proposed In Sarnia

An application has been made for a new methadone clinic in Sarnia.

Mayor Mike Bradley says the dispensary is proposed for a commercial building at 373 Vidal St. S near Confederation St.

City staff are working on preparing a report.

Bradley says there's obviously a need if someone is coming forward with plans for another dispensary.

Currently, the Bluewater Methadone Clinic helps people with opiate addictions at its 118 Victoria St. N site in Sarnia. Assistance is also sought at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Indian Rd.

The application for the new clinic will be discussed during a special planning meeting March 9.
