New Housing Starts Up 30 Per Cent

Sarnia area housing starts ended the year up 30 per cent in 2014.

CMHC market analyst Margot Stevenson says there were 172 new homes built last year. She says this year is off to a slower start but it's very early in the year.

Stevenson says the strong resale market is a contributing factor, but she doesn't expect the downward trend to continue.

Numbers include Sarnia City, St.Clair Township and the Village of Point Edward.
