ONA President Joins Sarnia CCAC Picketers

The President of the Ontario Nurses Association says patients are suffering as the strike by Community Care Access Centre workers needlessly drags on.

Linda Haslam-Stroud joined a group of about 30 placard-carrying members outside Sarnia City Hall Tuesday afternoon.

She's calling for the employer to return to the bargaining table and agree to their 1.4 per cent wage increase so they can get back to work.

Some 3,000 CCAC workers across the province, 260 in the Erie-St. Clair region that includes Sarnia, have been on strike since January 30.

Money is the main issue.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
