It's Fat Tuesday

It's Fat Tuesday and that means Global Donuts on London Line will be especially busy, making and selling thousands of paczkis.

Owner Gus Pantazis expects to sell at least 24,000 of the deep fried, sugar coated, fruit filled pastries .

He says flavours include custard, cherry, apple, blueberry, raspberry, lemon, strawberry and prune.

Pantazis says Global is proud to have started the tradition in Sarnia, they've been selling the treats for over 25 years.

Paczkis are eaten as part of the Shrove Tuesday feast in advance of 40 days of Lent which will begin tomorrow.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
