Man Arrested Following Violent Incidents

Sarnia police have arrested a 35-year-old man in two violent incidents.

Constable Les Jones says the first happened Family Day Monday in the 300-block of Kathleen Ave.  A man entered a home and struck a male victim with an unknown weapon.

Constable Jones says the victim was taken to London hospital with non-life threatening injuries and a warrant was obtained for the suspect's arrest.

Then around noon February 18, Jones says in the 100-block of Cameron St., a second victim was beaten, robbed and forced into his car. Constable Jones says he was being transported to a unknown location when, fearing for his life, he jumped from the vehicle.

The second victim was treated at Bluewater Health and released.

Criminal investigation detectives arrested a suspect without incident just before 7pm Thursday in the 800-block of Carlton Place.

He was being held for a bail hearing on 16 charges including robbery, assault with a weapon, unlawful confinement, threats to cause death and possession of stolen property.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
