Muslim Association To Hold Multi Faith Peace Gathering

The Sarnia Muslim Association is holding a Multi Faith Peace Gathering Saturday.

Organizer Fatima Haffejee says they're inviting people of all denominations to take part.

She says the idea is to assure the community that Islam is a peaceful religion that abhors violence around the world.

Haffejee says there will be representatives from the city, including Mayor Mike Bradley at Saturday's gathering at 2:30pm at the Cenotaph behind Sarnia Library.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
