Police in St. Clair County, Michigan will be safer in dangerous situations thanks to the acquisition of a BAE Caiman armoured personnel carrier.
The non-combat vehicle will be used to keep officers safe during hostage situations and high-risk search warrants.
Sheriff Tim Donnellon says the new vehicle replaces one they had been sharing with other forces in McComb County.

Sheriff Donnellon says the force got the new personnel carrier free of charge from military surplus and spent $25,000 on upgrades.
