Daytime Sarnia Robbery Foiled

One man is in custody and Sarnia police are searching for another in the attempted robbery of a Tunnel St. business Thursday morning.

Police say suspects entered the business just before 10am and made off with various tools in a stolen vehicle parked outside.

Constable John Sottosanti says an employee saw the men who both fled on foot.

He says with the help of the public, one of the suspects was identified.

The arrested man is charged with three counts of breach of probation and one count each of break and enter, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and theft over $5,000. He was being held for a bail hearing.

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the second suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sarnia police or Crime Stoppers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
