Sarnia City Council Meets Today

A rather light agenda greets Sarnia City Council this afternoon.

Council meets in regular session at 4pm.

It's recommended staff be given the all clear to implement the contingency plan for hauling wastewater from the Bright's Grove Lagoons by truck to a pumping station on London Line if needed.

During long, cold winters, staff say the lagoons struggle to contain all the wastewater and occassionally the water level reaches unacceptable levels.

The Ministry of Environment will no longer permit the water to reach elevated levels and the City's contingency plan must be deployed.

Council is being asked to award consulting services for a sponsorship research project and city staff will provide an update on existing traffic signal synchronization.
