Careless Smoking Blamed For Fire

Careless smoking is to blame in an early morning fire in a central Sarnia apartment building.

Sarnia Fire and Rescue Service responded to 515 London Rd. at East St. around 4am.

Smoke was coming from one of the buildings.

Firefighters woke up the lone tenant in the unit and removed a smoldering sofa chair. The tenant was taken to hospital for observation.

The building was vented and the rest of the tenants were allowed to return.
