Flu Deaths Up Locally

There's been seven flu related deaths in Sarnia Lambton so far this year, all residents of long term care homes.

Lambton Public Health has seen an increase in flu outbreaks at long term care facilities.

Supervisor Erin Courtney says they're seeing more incidents of influenza among the elderly.

There's been 52 confirmed cases of Influenza A and two cases of Influenza B locally, up from a total of 43 cases at this time last year.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
