Man Charged With Arson In Apartment Fire

Sarnia police have arrested a suspect in an apartment fire on Queen St. Monday morning.

Police, fire and EMS responded to a fire at a three storey building at Queen and Talfourd just after 9am on March 2.

The building was evacuated and there were no injuries.

City police became involved after the fire was deemed suspicious.

An investigation resulted in the arrest of a 21-year-old man shortly after 1:30pm Thursday afternoon. He was awaiting a bail hearing on a charge of arson.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
