Deadline For SGH Site Purchase And Sale Could Be Extended

Sarnia Council could extend the deadline in the Agreement of Purchase and Sale for the Sarnia General Hospital site during its Monday meeting.

Council already extended it to April 17 but city staff says there's not enough time to complete required tasks.

Two independent property appraisals, a cost estimate of hazardous materials remediation and final legal determination of the property's ownership are required.

Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley says council has a couple of options.

Council tabled a decision on a rezoning of the former hospital site during its March 9 meeting.

A development group is proposing a $15-million health campus project.
