Sifton Properties Development Meeting Tuesday

Yet another public consultation meeting will be held after Sifton Properties tweaked its plans for a commercial plaza development at the northwest corner of Modeland Rd. and Michigan Ave.

The London-based mega developer says its appealing Sarnia's newly completed Official Plan that designated the Modeland Rd. corridor for residential development.

The next community consultation will be held March 24 at 7p.m. at Sarnia City Hall.

Residents have repeatedly said over the years that they do not want commercial plazas on Modeland Rd. citing fears of traffic-slowing accesses and the glut of empty retail buildings in other parts of the city.
