Public Works Crews Busy Making Repairs

Public works crews in Sarnia are turning their attention to road repairs.

Record cold temperatures have taken a toll leaving behind large potholes that wreak havoc on vehicles.

Water and Sewer Superintendent Al Fraser says the focus will now shift to fixing potholes and asphalt and concrete repairs after another bad winter for watermain breaks.

There were a couple more watermain breaks Wednesday.

George St. between Christina St. and Brock St. was expected to be closed until 5pm. The intersection of Egremont Rd. and Blue Heron Rd. was to be closed until 4pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
