Chychrun Up For Most Outstanding Player Award

Sarnia Sting defenceman Jakob Chychrun is one of the finalists for the OHL’s Red Tilson Trophy, which recognizes the most outstanding player of the year.

The Ontario Hockey League announced the finalists for the league’s major awards for the 2014-15 regular season on Wednesday.

All finalists for the Red Tilson Trophy were nominated by the member teams of the OHL as their most outstanding player for the 2014-15 regular season. The Red Tilson Trophy is voted on by the sports writers and broadcasters in the OHL.

Chychrun has also been nominated for the Emms Family Award as rookie of the year, and the Max Kaminsky Trophy for defenceman of the year.

The 2015 OHL Awards Ceremony will take place on June 9 at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. However, award recipients will be announced periodically throughout the 2015 OHL playoffs, which begins on Thursday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
