Historic Balmoral Under New Ownership

A grand old dame in Point Edward has a new owner.

John Leppington, a co-owner of Northend Appliance Centre, has purchased the Balmoral property on Michigan Ave.

He says the first order of business will be to gut the interior and put in new wiring.

The Bal opened in 1865 as one of the premier hotels in the area and is one of the oldest licensed establishments in Canada.

It closed five years ago after being in the Kowalyshyn family for 45 years.
