A vehicle and bicycle collide at Wellington, Ontario and Mitton Streets. March 30, 2015 (Photo submitted by Corey Dillon)A cyclist luckily escaped critical injury when he was hit by a pickup truck in central Sarnia early Monday afternoon.
City police say the 22-year-old male cyclist was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries after being hit at the intersection of Wellington St., Ontario St. and Mitton St.
Wellington St., just east of the intersection, was closed for awhile but reopened after 2pm.
The investigation was continuing.
As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.
Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
