Petrolia Vet To Receive Special Honour

Yet a second World War Two veteran from Petrolia will receive the highest award France can bestow on an individual.

Ted Paisley will receive the French Legion of Honour Medal at a special ceremony at the Petrolia Legion Tuesday evening at 7pm.

First Hussars Regimental Association spokesman Gene Smith says Lance Corporal Ted Paisley was with the Canadian's 4th Division that helped liberate France during the World War Two.

Tonight's ceremony begins at 7 at the Petrolia Legion. The public, EMS and military personnel are invited to attend.

Sid McLean, also of Petrolia, was awarded the French Legion of Honour Medal last December for his contribution to the liberation of France.
