Sarnia Lambton History On Display During Archives Week

Lambton County is celebrating Archives Awareness week with some special events throughout the area.

Old footage of the city dating back to  the 40's and 50's will be screened at the Sarnia Library Theatre 7 p.m. Wednesday night.

County Archivist Dana Thorne says there's footage of a parade with soldiers marching in 1941, a home show in the 1950's, and a Sarnia tourism video from the 1970's.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
