Northbound traffic was being diverted at Marlborough Rd. for much of the afternoon, southbound traffic wasn't impacted.
Police say one person was sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation continues.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
