Alcohol 'Off Sales' Suggested

Sarnia's police chief doesn't see the need to expand the existing delivery system for alcoholic beverages.

Phil Nelson reacting to an industry group's suggestion that consumers be given the option to buy beer for home consumption from restaurants, bars and pubs.

Restaurants Canada says six provinces already allow the licensing of eateries and bars to sell beer for home consumption.

The Ontario Liberals have said there will be changes to the way beer and wine are sold in the province with an announcement expected in the upcoming spring budget.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
