Monte McNaughton Withdraws From Race

Monte McNaughton is pulling out of the Ontario PC leadership race.

The Lambton Kent Middlesex MPP released a statement this morning thanking his campaign team, staff and volunteers for their support.

McNaughton says he will continue to stand up for the ideas they have brought forward, but believes follow candidate Barrie MP Patrick Brown is the best choice to lead the Ontario PC party at this time.

The other candidate is deputy PC leader Christine Elliot.

Ontario PC members will vote for a new leader May 3 and 7.

The results will be announced at a convention May 9 in Toronto.
