Powerboat Festival Funding Welcomed

The Co-Founder of the Sarnia International Powerboat Festival is thrilled the event is getting a $45,000 grant from the province.

The money is allocated under the $19-million Celebrate Ontario program.

Michelle Stokley says the funds will help them expand on an already successful summer event.

Stokley says they'll be advertising more to bring in guests from a larger distance.

Concerts at the festival are expected to be announced sometime in April. The Trews and Big Sugar highlighted last year's entertainment.

This year's festival runs from August 7 through August 9.
