Harmony For Youth Founder Dies

Funeral Mass for a well-known Sarnian who had a significant impact on the youth of the community will be held Wednesday at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Church.

Joanne Klauke-LaBelle passed away Saturday at the age of 47.

Joanne founded Harmony for Youth where she served as executive director for many years.  She began the grassroots organization in 1999, offering youth music lessons free of charge after three people close to her committed suicide.

Klauke-LaBelle was recognized for her work by named to the Mayor's Honour List.

Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home in Sarnia from 2-4 and 7-9 Tuesday.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
