LKDSB Schools Not Impacted By Strike

Local educators are following a strike by high school teachers in Durham Region very closely.

The teachers went on strike Monday after talks broke down last week.

Schools are closed for 24,000 students in the Ajax, Whitby, Pickering and Oshawa areas.

Lambton-Kent District School Board Director of Education Jim Costello says he took to social media Sunday to assure parents and students that it's business as usual here.

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation had designated seven school boards for potential strike action, starting with Durham. Lambton-Kent is not on the list.
