Davidson Says Budget Good For Sarnia-Lambton

Conservative Sarnia-Lambton MP Pat Davidson says the federal budget unveiled Tuesday is of particular importance to border communities like Sarnia impacted by cross border shopping.

She says the budget also boosts funding for defence, security and border services in the fight against terror.

The budget would see the minimum withdrawal amounts for Registered Retirement Income Funds, or RIFFs, reduced to allow seniors to invest their retirement savings for longer and delay paying tax on the money.

There's also a proposed new Home Accessibility Tax Credit to help seniors and people with disabilities with the cost of home renovations designed to make life simpler, and safer.

This is Davidsons final term as Sarnia-Lambton MP.

The past president of the Sarnia-Lambton Progressive Conservative Association is now the the PC candidate for the next federal election set for October 19.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
