Unattended Cooking Leads To House Fire

Unattended cooking is getting the blame for a $10,000 house fire in the 300-block of Confederation St. last night.

When firefighters from three stations arrived around 7:30pm, smoke was coming from the front door of the home.

The blaze was contained to the kitchen area of the home.

No one was hurt.

Unattended cooking is the most common type of cooking fire and fire officials remind residents not to put something on the stove and then walk away.
