Push For Cruise Ships In Sarnia

Local officials will continue working on attracting a Great Lakes Cruise ship to make a stop in Sarnia.

Following a meeting with Tourism Sarnia-Lambton General Manager Marlene Wood, Mayor Mike Bradley says the earliest it could happen is 2017.

He says cruise line companies have already set their schedules for the next two years.

Mayor Bradley says part of the problem is our proximity to Windsor/Detroit but with more ships now sailing the Great Lakes, opportunities have increased.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
