Sarnia Council Ponders 'Silent Reflection'

It's being recommended Sarnia City Council discontinue the opening of meetings with a non-denomination prayer, and replaced with a moment of silent reflection.

This follows a recent ruling by the Supreme Court of Canada that says prayers cannot be recited before municipal council meetings in Saguenay, Quebec.

Mayor Mike Bradley says several other municipalities have recently stopped the practice as well.

Council will consider the recommendation at its meeting Monday.
