UPDATE: Name of Deceased Will Not Be Released

Sarnia Police have now identified the body of a Sarnia male recovered from the St. Clair River Friday afternoon.

They say foul play is not suspected and the victim's name will not be released.

City firefighters responded around 2pm, locating and bringing ashore the body of a deceased male in the Devine St. area.

The response was both shore-based and waterborne using the Sarnia Fire and Rescue Service Marine One vessel.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
