Construction Activity Picks Up In April

Construction activity picked up in Sarnia in April with 58 permits being issued for a total value of nearly $5.7-million.

The year-to-date total of $14.3-million is still about $3-million behind 2014.

Permits for 13 single family dwellings were issued in April for a total of 29, exactly the same as last year through the first four months.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
