Lambton County Council will arrange a special public meeting before moving ahead with the installation of fibre optics county wide.
The decision was made Wednesday during a regular scheduled meeting in Wyoming.
The South West Integrated Fibre Technology, or SWIFT project, has been highly debated by county council. That continues to be the case as councillors are concerned they wont get a worthwhile return on the money they fork out for the project.
Councillor Steve Arnold says getting high speed internet to rural parts of the county remains a priority.
The meeting will be scheduled sometime before the end of June, on a week night or Saturday morning to make it more accessible for public attendance.
