Real Estate Numbers up for April 2015

Sarnia-Lambton real estate sales for the month of April are up compared to 2014.

Number of sales are up 3 per cent compared to last year, and up 11 per cent for the year. 187 properties sold last month with a dollar volume of just over $39-million.

2015 sales volume history is off to a strong start, topping 2014 numbers for the months of January, March, and April.

Board President Jane Baker says there are a couple of factors playing into the spring-time buying.

The average sales so far this year are $217,167 and are roughly on par to last year at $217,680.

The average sale price in April was $205,547 compared to $219,351 at this time last year.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
