New Leader At Salmon Derby

There is a new leader in the Salmon category. Tim Nolan of Camlachie caught a 17.44 lb salmon.

The leaders in the other four fish categories remain unchanged:

  • Errol Burgess of Camlachie in the Trout - Boat category with a 11.03 lb brown trout.
  • Mike Howie of Sarnia in the Trout - Shore category with a 11.30 lb rainbow trout.
  • Tricia Geerts of Sarnia in the Lake Trout category with a 19.80 lb lake trout.
  • Barry Smith of Sarnia in the Walleye category with a 7.74 lb walleye.
The Daily Big Fish winner is Tim Nolan of Camlachie with a 17.44 lb salmon.

The Daily Draw winner at the Port Franks weigh station is Shawn Hardick of Sarnia.

The Daily Draw winner at the Sarnia weigh station is Dave Spalding of Mount Brydes.

46 fish were entered at the Sarnia weigh station and 89 fish were entered at the Port Franks weigh station for a seven day Salmon Derby total of 719 fish.

The derby wraps up Sunday.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
