Mother's Day Walk On Sunday

The 24th annual Mother's Day Walk in support of breast cancer is Sunday at Canatara Park.

Organizers are hoping to raise $30,000 for programs at London hospitals.

Marsha Davidson, executive director of the Sarnia-based Breast Cancer Society of Canada, says although survival rates are improving, one in nine women will be diagnosed with the disease in their lifetime.

67 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer every day and 14 more will die from the disease.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
