Frost Advisory Issued

Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for much of southern Ontario including Sarnia-Lambton. Forecasters say some plants could be damaged or even destroyed by frost.

A high pressure system from the American midwest will move over southern Ontario tonight. Clear skies and light winds are expected for tonight into early tomorrow morning. As a result, frost will develop near midnight. Areas near the shorelines of the lower great lakes will have a lesser chance of frost.

Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas, and take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.

Weather advisories for frost are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.
