Driver Charged After Pedestrian Hit

Sarnia police say a 62-year-old woman is in hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle at Lakeshore Rd. and Murphy Rd. around noon Friday.

Police say she was crossing Lakeshore Rd. on a green light when she was struck by a vehicle attempting to turn left onto Lakeshore.

The 63-year-old female driver of the vehicle is charged with failing to yield for a pedestrian.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
