Province Pulls Funding For Self Employment Program

Ontario's Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities is discontinuing the Ontario Self Employment Benefit program in Lambton County.

After more than 20 years, the Sarnia-Lambton Business Development Corporation says that as of Friday, there will be no new applications to the program.

General Manager Don Anderson says they received a very scripted message from the ministry saying due to the province's financial circumstances, reallocation of funds was necessary.

Clients looking for business start-up assistance can be served by the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership Business Resource Centre at the research park.
