Letwoski Added To Hockey Canada Coaching Staff

The former bench boss of the Sarnia Sting is part of the coaching staff for Hockey Canada at the 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge this fall.

Trevor Letowski will be an Assistant Coach with Canada Black at the tournament, a team that will be coached by Marco Pietroniro of the QMJHL's Baie-Comeau Drakkar.

Kris Knoblach of the Erie Otters will coach Canada Red, and Jamie Kompon of the Portland Winterhawks will coach Canada White.

Canada’s national under-17 development camp will be held July 29 to August 4 in Calgary, with 108 players attending. From the camp, 66 players will be selected to represent Canada at the 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

Hockey Canada says they will announce rosters, as well as the host city for the tournament in the upcoming weeks.

Letowski joined the Sting as an Assistant Coach in 2010, he also played three seasons with the organization before beginning his NHL career.

He was an assistant for Hockey Canada at the Uunder-18 World Championship in Finland last spring, he also won World Junior gold with Canada in 1997.
