Walk/Run Supporting MADD

Start tying up your laces!

This Sunday marks the 4th annual MADD Strides for Change Walk/Run in Canatara Park. The 5km route welcomes individual and team participants of all fitness levels with a minimum $25 registration pledge. The event features a trivia contest, draws, t-shirt giveaways, prize packages and more! Local MADD Board Member Erin Pollard says summer is a busy time for the chapter. "With the summer, we do RIDE programs," says Pollard. "Because of our out of lake location, we have a lot more boating impaired awareness out there than most of our chapters." Last year raised $8,000, a number they're hoping top at about $10,000 this year.

"All of our money goes towards awareness in the community and victim support," says Pollard. "So it all stays within the community to assist us in getting the message out." Registration takes place at noon and the walk follows at 1pm. All donations help the local MADD chapter.
